Who is Savannah James?

Savannah James doesn’t enjoy the fame that comes with being the wife of a basketball star. Appearances on the red carpet or on TV make her “a little sweaty,” but she’s more than willing to step out of her comfort zone for what she believes in. Savannah doesn’t identify with fame; she’s a champion of empowerment.

Savannah has been working to change lives for the better for years, but she has also dedicated herself to her family as a mother and wife. A personal journey that began when she met LeBron James in 2002.

How they met

LeBron James was a 17-year-old junior at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s, and Savannah was a 16-year-old sophomore at Buchtel, a rival school, when a mutual friend told Savannah that LeBron had asked for her phone number.

Since she didn’t know much about LeBron James at the time, Savannah opted to get his phone number, but she forgot about it until she got bored or something. When she called him, LeBron invited her to one of his basketball games and they went as a group to the local Applebee’s afterward. Their first solo date followed shortly after.
