LeBron James is definitely hanging up at the Los Angeles Lakers

Choosing the Los Angeles Lakers as a destination in the last days of his career, LeBron James still has enough contributions to make the BLD team honored.

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss confirmed that no matter what, LeBron James will still hang his shirt at the team’s home ground.

“Our standards are very clear: When a Lakers player is nominated for the Hall of Fame, he gets his shirt hanging ,” Jeanie Buss said. “And I’m sure LeBron will be in the Hall of Fame.”

LeBron James came to the Lakers in 2018 and was crowned champion in 2020

Before LeBron James, there were 12 other players who had the honor of hanging up their shirts. Most recently, Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol have seen their shirt numbers raised to the ceiling at Staples Center.

LeBron landed at the Lakers in 2018, after a four-year streak that brought the Cleveland Cavaliers to the finals, including the historic 2016 championship.

Since then, James has helped the California state team completely transform, from a rebuilding job with no way out, the Lakers have become a competitive team, and won the NBA championship 2020.

LeBron wears both number 6 and number 23 at the Lakers

LeBron James is sure to enter the Hall of Fame, and has also brought the 17th championship in the club’s history. The question, however, is how much the Lakers will hang.

The four-time NBA champion wore the number 23 and 6 at the Lakers. He switched from 23 to 6 after Anthony Davis arrived at the team, and back from 6 to 23 after the death of the legendary Bill Russell.

“That’s an issue we’ll discuss later,”  replied Ms. Jeanie Buss.
