Kevin Durant Says He Isolated Himself After Draymond Green Screamed At Him On The Warriors

  • Draymond Green and Kevin Durant had a huge on-court altercation in 2019
  • Kevin Durant ended up leaving the Warriors partly because of that argument
  • Durant revealed that he isolated himself from the team because the issue was not addressed

Though Kevin Durant is viewed as a key member of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, he ended up leaving the franchise in 2019 free agency, choosing to join the Brooklyn Nets instead.

Part of the reason Kevin Durant left the Golden State Warriors was due to an altercation with Draymond Green, where Green refused to pass Durant the ball in the waning moments of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. That led to the two arguing and swearing at one another. When speaking about the incident, Durant revealed that he started isolating himself after that happened.

“For him to say that kind of s**t to me, it just threw me for a loop. I just started isolating myself after that… nobody really talked about it, it was just swept under the rug, and to me, it was just like we can move past this, but let’s all talk about it.”

This response from Kevin Durant is absolutely fair, and this is one of those things that should absolutely be addressed by the team, rather than being left out in the open without being talked about. It is easy to see why he decided to keep to himself after the incident and left the team in free agency.

During his time with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant averaged 25.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 5.4 APG, while shooting 38.4% from 3PT range. He had some of his best years with the Warriors, and we’ll see if he can win a championship without them in the future.

Draymond Green Revealed Kevin Durant Didn’t Come To His Wedding Despite Saying He’d Show Up

Draymond Green recently revealed that Kevin Durant didn’t go to his wedding, despite being invited. It is unclear exactly why Durant didn’t come, but that didn’t stop people from speculating about their relationship.

“Of course I invited KD,” Draymond Green said when talking about his wedding on The Shop. “He would have not shown up like… The way he sold it to me, I thought he was for sure. The way Slim sold it to me… He told me he was gonna come in there and find him a girl. Something of that nature.”

It remains to be seen if Kevin Durant will explain why he didn’t show up to Draymond Green’s wedding. The two’s relationship was definitely strained after their argument in 2019, but it isn’t obvious if that played into Durant’s decision
