The USMNT talisman is set to move to Serie A in an attempt to rebuild his career after his four year spell in West London saw him play a reduced role as his team finished in the bottom half
USMNT talisman Christian Pulisic has issued a message to his new supporters after a former Chelsea teammate let the cat out the bag about his impending move to AC Milan.
The speedy winger had a frustrating season last term at Stamford Bridge, featuring for just 811 minutes as the Blues slumped to a disappointing 13th place finish in the Premier League. The man supporters once dubbed “Captain America” was something of a forgotten entity under Thomas Tuchel and Frank Lampard and a parting of ways seemed likely following the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old entered the final year of his contract earlier this summer and was deemed surplus to requirements after he found himself behind the likes of recent recruits Mykhailo Mudryk and Christopher NKunku in the pecking order. Now, he is closing in on a move to the Rossoneri, as he looks to put his Chelsea nightmare behind him.
The 60-time international is expected to conduct his medical imminently after the two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £18.9million ($24.2million), as per Football.London. Although no official announcement has been made by the seven-time European champions, the Pulisic has already sent a message to the San Siro outfit’s supporters on the club’s official Instagram page.
In a video clip shared on social media, the former Borussia Dortmund forward expressed his delight at having landed in the Italian city ahead of his expected move. He said: “Hi AC Milan supporters, it’s Christian Pulisic. I’ve just arrived in Milan, I’m so excited to be here and I can’t wait to get started.”
The Serie A giants’ players have not exactly been coy about the prospect that the American could soon be on the move to the club, with former teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek having also acknowledged that a deal is imminent. In a press conference, the former Blues and England talent confirmed that Pulisic would be joining him in Italy.
Loftus-Cheek admitted that he had already spoken to his former Stamford Bridge colleague and had encouraged him to rediscover his old form in Italy. He said: “Christian Pulisic is coming [to Milan] tomorrow. We have already spoken. He will really help us, I told him he has to give everything because he’s among the best in the world.”

The USMNT key man reminded observers of his qualities with two strong outings for his country last month, with his two goals in the CONCACAF Nations League semi finals win over Mexico sending the nation on its way to the showpiece versus Canada. The attacker then was influential again as the US retained the trophy, beating their rivals 2-0.
Prior to these games for his country, Pulisic had admitted that he had found the previous couple of years in West London difficult, with the last season having been especially tough for him. Opening up about his experiences for the ailing outfit, he told ESPN: “It’s been a really tough season for me personally and for our team of course at a club level.
“Obviously, it’s been an interesting journey at club level for me. I thought it was a great couple years and the last couple years just haven’t gone at all how I’ve planned them to be.”
