Over the years, Keanu Reeves has grown to be one of Hollywood’s finest actors. In addition to being an authentic superstar, the actor is renowned for being the nicest guy one will ever meet. The actor is known to spread calmness around him, however, this one time, Reeves might have caused some paranoia.

Quentin Tarantino

When Kill Bill Vol. 1 first came out, Quentin Tarantino hosted a special screening of the movie. Reeves and Luc Besson, the filmmaker of The Fifth Element, were there. In an unusual event, the director of Pulp Fiction himself admitted that he felt upset after watching Reeves’s reaction to his film.

It’s no joke showcasing your creation in front of the finest Hollywood celebrities. One can understand if the pressure might put one on the edge. We believe that’s what happened with Quentin Tarantino. At the film Kill Bill Vol 1’s early screening, the filmmaker saw John Wick actor Keanu Reeves‘s reaction which got him upset and thinking about Reeves’s blockbuster The Matrix

“I watched Keanu watching and I suddenly felt it, You know, my guys are all real. There’s no computer f****** around. I’m sick to death of all that s***. This is old school with f****** cameras. If I’d wanted all that computer game bulls***, I’d have gone home and stuck my d*** in my Nintendo.”

Tarantino went on to explain how he believes using too much CGI is the death of cinema. Referring to CGI-filled movies such as Reeves’s The Matrix, Tarantino expressed his concern and said the practice is “𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing art the form.”

Quentin Tarantino on making his first action movie

Kill Bill

It’s always tough to put your shoes in a whole new genre as an artist. Even one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, Tarantino, felt a bit nervous while filming Kill Bill since he had not done an action movie before. Explaining his journey and all the screw-ups that took place while filming, Tarantino told the press the following

“I’ve never done action films before, And I’ve definitely never done a Hong Kong action film. I was stepping into the unknown, and the unknown is scary. We screwed up every way you could screw up when it came to scheduling this movie. Because we just didn’t know what the f*** we were doing.”

Mistakes were made and they were corrected. Tarantino eventually finished making his first action movie even if it meant the production budget soared from $39 million to $55 million.  After the completion of the film, Tarantino recognized his mistakes but was also really happy with the outcome, placing his new film in competition with gigantic productions like The Matrix and Star Wars.
