Black female athlete among the top 100 earners in sports: Serena Williams is once again by herself.

Black female athlete, Serena Williams turns out to be the only black female in Forbes list of 100 highest paid athletes for 2019. This gives more reasons for black female athletes to make concerted efforts to join the league of highly successful sportswomen in the world.

The black female athlete came 63rd in the Forbes list of highest-paid athlete 2019. She is surrounded by 99 male athletes who made the 2019 Forbes list as well. The sensational table tennis player is valued at $29.2 million. Serena William’s earnings could be broken down to show her pay at $29.1 million, salary or winnings at $4.2 million and $25 million as endorsements.

Serena Williams not only is one of the world’s greatest tennis players ever. She also doubles as the only athlete to make the Forbes 2019 list for America’s richest self-made women. Serena has 23 Grand Slam titles to her credit. Part of what makes Serena Williams stand out as a black female athlete include her many endorsements, winning and bonuses.

 

Serena Williams’ Business Interests

Serena Williams’ business interests, sponsorship deals and more all account for her success story. Other black female athletes and entrepreneurs can learn a valuable lesson from one of America’s legendary icons. She has interests in at least 34 start-ups including women and minorities companies. Her business interest also covers the Miami Dolphins, UFC and the clothing line industry. The Serena Williams $89 million career prize opportunity is another interesting support she renders to others. The prize money is about the highest prize money given by any female athlete.

 

Black female athletes like Serena Williams and sister, Venus William over the past decades have made a notable impact in the tennis world. They have inspired others to excel in their craft.

Serena William’s Struggles & Background

Serena Williams however, has also had her share of downtime with no title wins at the earlier stages of her career. But due to hard work, persistence, courage and regular practice, she has finally emerged as a rallying point. She is a force to reckon in tennis and sports in general. Serena arguably is one of the most influential black women or athlete in the world worthy of emulation today.

 

As a black female athlete and tennis player, Serena Williams has helped revolutionize women tennis and thus increased her fan base. She was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in Saginaw, Michigan US, on September 26, 1981. Serena started her tennis career alongside her elder sister, Venus Williams who started a year earlier. Her dad not only coached the sisters but served as a mentor to both sisters. Serena’s dad taught her how to play tennis at the Los Angeles court before she went professional in 1995.

This highest paid black female athlete has won more Grand-slam singles or titles. Her wins far exceed those earned by any other man or woman in the open era to date. One thing remains glaring, that Serena Williams has set the stage for other black to follow to attain success in their chosen field of endeavor.
