They started witha cozy, century-old cottage.
Next came an ultra-modern A-frame cabin.
Now, Dunlap Hollow is once again home to a one-of-a-kind stay in the heart of Hocking Hills.
The newest project from owners Amy and Bryant Gingerich may just be their best work yet. Built into a stunning, rugged cave, this unique vacation rental offers guests the chance to really connect with nature.
They first announced this new addition to Dunlap Hollow, their 40-acre property in Hocking Hills about 8 months ago. Since then, they’ve been working away all while building interest in the cave.
When I say interest, I mean interest. Although the cave only recently opened, it’s already 99% booked through 2023. They just opened up booking for 2024 on their website, and it’s filling up fast.
“The last 8 months has been such a journey and we’ve put so much into the cave,” the couple shared. “From the initial idea to the building plans, inspections, designs and final touches it’s been an awesome experience for us!”
The 1500 square foot cave house sleeps 6 guests with two bedrooms, each with a king bed, and two additional twin beds in one of the bedrooms. It features a full kitchen, a pool table, access to Dunlap Hollow’s private hiking trails, a hot tub, and an incredible patio space.
The Cave costs $600/night to book with reservations filling up for 2024 incredibly quickly. Dunlap Hollow is genuinely such a magical little paradise. I had the pleasure of visiting the original cottage back in 2019 and it was such a fantastic experience.
From the private hiking trails to the stunning views, it truly felt like we were in our own private oasis. As we mentioned above, Dunlap Hollow has three separate properties that you can book for your visit. If sleeping in a cave isn’t your vibe, you can always check out the gorgeous, modern A-frame or the cottage.
