Tiger Woods’ Shocking Masters Dinner Decision Doesn’t Sit Well with Fans

The Masters Champions dinner is a revered tradition, held every Tuesday Masters week. Yet, it is unlike any other professional dinner. It is an exclusive gathering, reserved only for golfers who have earned the esteemed Augusta National’s green jacket.

The organizers recently shared a photo of past Augusta winners at this year’s gathering, which was also posted by Nuclr Golf on X, captioned, “#CHAMPIONS DINNER — Legends and past Masters champs have assembled for Tuesday night’s Champions Dinner at Augusta National.”

But one notable absence that caught everyone’s attention was – Tiger Woods.

Even though Woods is recovering from his Achilles injury, nearly everyone from golfers to fans expected him at the Masters Champions dinner Tuesday night.

“Weird, Tiger isn’t there even if he’s injured,” said one fan, referring to his Achilles injury that forced him to skip the 2025 Masters. Another fan chimed in, “Sad that Tiger could not make it.”

This sentiment was echoed by another fan, who said, “Not the same without Big Cat, though.” And we can’t help but agree, considering Woods’ impressive resume – 15 major championships, including five Masters titles.

However, not everyone was understanding, with some fans voicing their disappointment.

“I love Tiger, but don’t think this is a good decision,” posted one fan.

Another Woods fan explained, “Surprised. Can’t be on crutches. Have had hip surgeries & gotten around on crutches for several months. Just don’t think he wants to be there. Otherwise, what’s the explanation? It’s the greatest golf week of the year.”

Interestingly, this is not the first time Woods missed the Masters Champions dinner. He missed the event in 2021 as well because of the car accident, which nearly resulted in the loss of his leg.

In addition to Woods, other notable absentees included Jack Nicklaus and Vijay Singh, who withdrew from the Masters this week citing injury.

This year’s Masters dinner, hosted by last year’s champion Scottie Scheffler, promised to be an unforgettable evening, with the World No. 1’s menu taking center stage.

The menu had many Texas culinary delights and some of Scheffler’s favorites, including ravioli, firecracker shrimp, ‘Papa Scheff’s’ meatballs, and more.
