In the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship, few stories capture the essence of resilience, innovation, and dedication as vividly as that of Razaq Juwon Lawal. From the early days of helping his father in a palm kernel oil business to becoming the Director of Africent Group, a conglomerate with global reach, Lawal’s journey exemplifies the transformative power of entrepreneurial spirit and continuous learning.

The Early Years:

Razaq Juwon Lawal’s entrepreneurial odyssey began at the age of 14 when he started working in his father’s palm kernel oil business in Iyamoye town, Ekinrin Ade, Kogi State. The immersive experience of toiling in the factory after school and on weekends laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Following the passing of his father in 1999, Lawal assumed the reins of the family business, propelling him to explore broader horizons.

The Palm Oil Venture:

Lawal’s foray into entrepreneurship saw him travel to various countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea. These trips fueled his curiosity and 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡ed Oillet Services, a venture that marked his transition from palm oil production to consulting services. Through Oillet Services, Lawal not only produced and sold palm kernel oil but also provided valuable consulting, including feasibility studies and assisting in setting up small and medium-scale palm kernel oil extracting plants.

His dedication and passion for industry drove Lawal to invest time in study and research, earning him a degree in Business Administration and a master’s in Business Administration and Management from Ambrose Alli University. Additionally, he pursued professional executive training in agribusiness from Harvard Business School, solidifying his knowledge base and expertise.

Diversification into Oil, Marine, and Agribusiness:

Lawal’s entrepreneurial acumen evolved further when he entered the oil, marine, and agribusiness sectors. The pivotal moment came in 2006 when he supplied an industrial generator to a vessel facing challenges powering its cranes. His solution-oriented approach not only solved the problem but also opened new doors in the shipping and marine industry. The evolution continued, culminating in the establishment of Africent Group, a conglomerate company headquartered in Logistics City Dubai World Central, United Arab Emirates, with operations spanning West Africa and the United Kingdom.

Global Entrepreneurship and Recognition:

Today, as the Director of Africent Group, Lawal manages diverse businesses in oil, shipping, mining, agriculture, and real estate. With over 15 years of experience in trading and brokering marine fuels, he has successfully executed contracts across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His global impact extends beyond business, with Lawal serving as an official member of the Forbes Business Council, a UN Eminent Peace Ambassador, and a Global Ambassador and Member of the Commonwealth Entrepreneurs Club.

In 2020, Lawal was honored as the Business Man of the Year, adding to his accolades, including the Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013. His commitment to promoting universal moral values and peace resonates in his roles as a UN Eminent Peace Ambassador and a Global Ambassador.

Navigating Challenges and Embracing Innovation:
