JOE BUDDEN GOES OFF ON ICE FOR DEFENDING ANDREW SCHULZ OVER KENDRICK LAMAR DISS

The latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast took a fiery turn as host Joe Budden vehemently criticized his co-hosts, Ice and Emanny, for defending comedian Andrew Schulz’s controversial jokes about rapper Kendrick Lamar. The podcast, known for its spirited discussions, showcased a clash of opinions that has captivated its audience.

Budden’s outrage stemmed from Schulz’s remarks regarding Lamar, in which he deemed them disrespectful. While Ice and Emanny argued that Schulz’s humor was fair game and not meant to be taken personally, Budden strongly disagreed, asserting that the comedian was the last person who should be making jokes at Lamar’s expense. He emphasized that Schulz’s history and approach to humor made his comments particularly problematic.

“I’m not letting Ice do that,” Budden declared, rejecting his co-host’s defense of Schulz. The tension escalated as Ice accused Budden of hypocrisy, suggesting that the podcast crew selectively critiques individuals based on personal preferences. “We pick and choose,” Ice remarked, highlighting a perceived inconsistency in their criticism of public figures.

Budden countered Ice’s claims by pointing out that Schulz, in particular, is on “thin ice” when it comes to making jokes about Black celebrities. He argued that many feel Schulz lacks the standing to engage in such humor, given his background and the nature of his comedy. Budden noted that Schulz’s treatment of jokes about different ethnic groups varies significantly, particularly when comparing his approach to Jewish humor versus jokes targeting Black culture.

Despite the discussion revolving around comments made a year ago, Schulz continues to face scrutiny. In a recent interview on the Breakfast Club, he stood by his remarks, insisting that the backlash was disproportionate. “People made that s**t racism so fast,” he said, defending the context of his jokes.

As the debate rages on, the podcast episode exemplifies the ongoing conversation about race, humor, and the responsibility of public figures in comedy.
