Determined young Lady achieves 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood dream of becoming a Lawyer, celebrates achievement

A brilliant Nigerian lady named Oyindamola Akintola Jimoh, has fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer after being called to the Nigerian Bar.

Oyindamola’s dream of becoming a lawyer started back in 2004 when she was just a curious 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥. She recounts watching her father step out of the house, fully robed in his legal attire and carrying a heavy leather briefcase.

”Sometime in 2004, I would see my dad bounce out of the house FULLY ROBED with that very heavy briefcase and would always wonder what he did for a living that gave him so much joy, pride and fulfillment,” she wrote on Linkedin.

That admiration planted a seed in Oyindamola’s heart — a dream to one day become a lawyer and especially wear the legal robe.

In 2013, Oyindamola took her first major step toward her dream by gaining admission to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), where she studied for a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) and graduated from the university in 2019.

In 2020, she enrolled in the Nigerian Law School, an educational institution that provides professional certification to law graduates.

At law school, Oyindamola said there were times when the rigorous curriculum and workload tested her and she felt like giving up but she persevered.

”Like many of my learned friends can testify, it has been the longest journey with different times we considered making U-turns; but God, seeing the end from the beginning, held us firmly on course and we’re here now, telling of His goodness!” she said.

Her perseverance paid off and she was inducted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2021, the fulfillment of her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood dream.

Oyindamola’s thirst for knowledge did not stop at becoming a lawyer. She went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Money, Banking, and Central Banking at the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom.

She expressed gratitude for the support she received so far from her family, mentors and friends. ”I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve had so far from family, mentors, and friends! Hey Daddy, I get to be fully robed too,” she said.
