Elon Musk’s son is the richest billionaire in the world, but his father is not proud

Errol Musk revealed why he is not proud of his billionaire son on live radio. He also revealed that he has never received a gift from the Tesla CEO.

Elon Musk is famous for being an eccentric billionaire, he often does things that other billionaires never do. However, that difference has helped this billionaire affirm his position as one of the greatest entrepreneurs in the world.

As a teenager, Elon Musk was a shy, introverted boy. His later success was more or less influenced by his reticent father, Errol Musk (76 years old).

Not proud of having a billionaire 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥

Errol Musk recently appeared on Kyle and Jackie O’s show for a 20-minute interview. In this rare appearance, Elon Musk’s father shared his relationship with his billionaire son.

The Tesla CEO’s father said Elon had “crossed the line” of success, but it wasn’t a surprising result. “Your son is a genius. He has a huge fortune and has created a lot of things, does that make you proud?” Jackie O asked.

Mr. Errol’s answer surprised the audience as well as the host: “No! You know, we are a family that has done a lot of things for a long time. It’s not like we suddenly found a new field and became successful overnight.”

When they lived in South Africa, Elon Musk’s family was known to be well-off. However, Errol Musk always asked his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren to do chores that were usually done by servants and maids, such as cleaning the house and mowing the lawn. At that time, this was considered quite strange.

Accordingly, this billionaire’s father is known to be an engineer from South Africa. After his parents separated, Elon Musk, then 8 years old, lived with his father for a while before moving to Canada with his mother and siblings. That short period of time greatly influenced Elon Musk, contributing to the success of the “eccentric genius” later on.

Distant but still silently caring

Host Jackie O asked the South African engineer if he owned a Tesla. The answer was “no”, he currently drives cars like Bentley, Rolls Royce and Mercedes.

Errol said he has never received a gift from his billionaire son. He also revealed that Elon’s younger brother, Kimbal, is his “pride and joy.”

Elon Musk’s father said: “We are a very frugal family, even stingy. If someone wants to spend anything, they have to answer 100 questions why. Elon lives very simply. To this day, my son still wakes up and goes to work at 6 am.”

Errol said his billionaire son is not as happy as people imagine. The Tesla CEO even thinks he is five years behind schedule. “It’s understandable that my son is disappointed with what he’s doing,” the 76-year-old said.

“I know it sounds absurd, but to me, Elon is still like a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥. He’s 50 now, and I still think of him as a boy.”

After seeing the latest photo of his son, Errol Musk could not hide his concern. He hopes Elon pays more attention to eating and living a more moderate life. “Elon was trained to be a tough man but does not know how to take care of himself,” the Tesla billionaire’s father expressed.

Errol Musk said he was also very worried about Elon’s relationship status. He believed that his son would never find a woman who would give up her career to be a part of his life.

In contrast to his close relationship with his mother Maye Musk, tech billionaire Elon Musk has a strained relationship with his father. Although he has praised his father for his outstanding intelligence, the Tesla CEO has admitted that he is not close to Errol. In fact, the two have had many disagreements over the years.

Tesla Is No Longer Elon Musk’s Most Valuable Asset

**Breaking News: Tesla Falls Behind as Musk’s SpaceX Surges Ahead** In a stunning turn of events, Tesla is no longer the crown jewel of Elon Musk’s empire, as SpaceX has officially surpassed the electric vehicle giant in value for the first time in five years. Musk’s fortune, once heavily anchored by Tesla, has shifted dramatically following a series of alarming developments. Musk’s financial landscape took a hit after he funneled over $200 million into Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, but he rebounded quickly, briefly becoming the world’s first $400 billion individual. However, Tesla’s stock has since plummeted by 50%, exacerbated by disappointing delivery numbers and concerns over Musk’s divided attention as he juggles his new role in the Trump administration. Recent reports indicate that Tesla’s revenue growth has stagnated to a mere 1% in 2024, while net income has declined for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, shocking drops in vehicle sales have been documented across key markets, including Germany, China, and Australia. As public sentiment turns against Musk, protests have erupted at Tesla dealerships nationwide, amplifying the urgency of the situation. The turmoil doesn’t end there. Musk’s appeal of a Delaware court ruling that invalidated a lucrative pay package has further complicated his financial stability. Forbes has slashed the value of Musk’s stock options by 50%, revealing that his stake in Tesla is now worth $97.8 billion, significantly less than the soaring valuation of SpaceX. With SpaceX’s value now estimated at $147 billion—almost $20 billion more than Musk’s Tesla holdings—this shift marks a seismic change in Musk’s financial narrative. SpaceX’s revenue surged by 51% to $13.1 billion in 2024, buoyed by the booming Starlink satellite internet service. As the dust settles, it’s clear that Musk’s fortunes are in flux, and the landscape of his empire is shifting dramatically. Stay tuned as we continue to monitor these developments closely.
