Patrick Mahomes is brushing up on his girl dad s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s as he prepares to welcome Baby Girl No. 2 with wife Brittany Mahomes.

Yesterday, Brittany captured the cutest photo of the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs braiding their 3-year-old daughter Sterling’s hair. The little girl is sitting on her dad’s lap, facing the family’s impressive Christmas tree, and he is holding the loose ends of the braid in his hand. (Someone get that man a hair tie pronto!)

“@patrickmahomes crushing his braiding s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s,” Brittany wrote over the photo that she shared on her Instagram story.

And it really does look like he crushed it! Besides Patrick’s rookie mistake of not having enough hair ties at the ready, he did a great job. Sterling’s hair is expertly tied back into a high ponytail that is pretty smooth, and his braiding looks just about as even as it gets.

And so we have to tip our hats off to #15, who is clearly looking to be the #1 man in his daughter(s)’ lives.

Patrick and Brittany also share a 2-year-old son Bronze, and both kiddos have the most beautiful blond curls. Well … almost always beautiful. A serious case of bedhead is pretty much inevitable, and so Patrick felt the need to apologize to his son over the summer when the toddler’s curls were looking especially wild.

“Sorry for the hair bro,” the Super Bowl winner wrote over the photo, “runs in the family.”

In a past Instagram Q&A, Brittany revealed her secret to keeping her kids’ curls soft, shiny, and in place. The co-owner of the Kansas City Current just uses water and a $7 leave-in conditioner. The cult favorite product from Aunt Jackie’s is formulated with shea butter, extra virgin olive oil, and marshmallow root to help strands not get tangled. And so we have to imagine there was some in Sterling’s hair, giving the NFL star an edge when he started braiding.

The First Family of Football will welcome their third 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 in 2025, and we can’t wait to see if she has the family’s signature curls too.

While sharing the braid photo on her Story, Brittany also posted a carousel of stunning bumpdate photos on her Instagram feed. The fitness trainer was glowing and “radiating gorgeous” in the black-and-white photos where she rocked a sleek black maxi skirt and cropped top set.

“UNREAL 🔥❤️,” one follower said, because the collection is about as jaw-dropping as Patrick’s braiding s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s.
