Candace Cameron Bure reveals the most important lesson Bob Saget taught her: ‘Don’t leave the room without it’

Candace Cameron Bure’s heart is still full of Bob Saget’s life lessons.

For the actress, 48, starring on “Full House” alongside the late comedian for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995 made him family.

When he died at age 65 in 2022, Bure kept one very important piece of wisdom in mind.

“I try to remember to tell all the people I love that I love them every time I see them,” the “Fuller House” alum exclusively told The Post at the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s “Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine” event earlier this month. “Tell the people that you love that you love them. Don’t leave the room without it.”

Another way Bure emulates Saget? As she put it, “I try to laugh a lot.”

And it’s safe to say the actor is never far from Bure’s mind.

“I miss Bob every day, so I am happy to be here and champion the cause and celebrate him as well,” stated Bure.

To many, Saget was America’s Dad in the late ’80s and again for “Fuller House” for five seasons from 2016 to 2020. And what you saw was what you got.

In fact, when Season 8 of the “Ainsley McGregor” star’s “the Candace Cameron Bure Podcast” dropped on the same night as the Scleroderma event, she spoke candidly about her grief over missing Saget.

In Bure’s eyes, Saget was an open book.

“I don’t think there’s anything left that is surprising about Bob,” she mused. “He was the kindest, most generous person, and I think that everyone who knows him knows that.”

And continuing to support the Scleroderma Research Foundation is one way Bure keeps Saget’s legacy alive.

“It’s affected so many lives and that’s why he’s been a champion to raise money for research for so many years,” she said of the disease. “I’ve been coming to this event for so many years, and I’m always very happy to. Happy to be here. It’s a disease that you don’t hear as much about, and yet it affects so many people. I am glad we get to raise millions of dollars to try and find a cure for it.”

These days, Bure is booked and busy as the Chief Content Creator of Great American Family. With the holidays around the corner, the Queen of Christmas is back in her element.

“Christmas is upon us. Christmas 24/7 already on Great American,” Bure gushed. “So, November 16, ‘A Christmas Less Traveled.’ It’s a really sweet story about a woman whose dad has passed away, and she goes on a journey with him because he leaves her cassette tapes, and she listens to them, and they kind of have this journey together.”

That not all the “Unsung Hero” producer has up her sleeve, as things are merry and bright once more on Dec. 1.

“I have this great movie called ‘Home Sweet Christmas’ with Cameron Mathison,” Bure continued, “and we’ve been waiting to do a film together for so many years. It’s a very sweet story on a maple farm. It’s got all the Christmas stuff you could imagine.”

When asked about the one person the Candy Rock Entertainment founder would love to collaborate with on a Christmas movie, Bure said it was the one and only John Mayer.

“Maybe he can write a few Christmas songs!” Bure quipped.

Along with producing and starring in a variety of Christmas movies, Bure has one tradition she does with her family — including her husband of 28 years, Val Bure, and kids Natasha, 26, Lev, 24, and Maks, 22.

“We started waking up Christmas morning and watching the sunrise together,” Bure shared. “It’s really beautiful and starts the day off pretty incredible.”
