Millionaire Kylie Jenner admits that her pregnancy in her twenties was a life-changing moment for her. Although she was happy to be a mother, the postpartum period left her with prolonged depression.
The reality TV star was just 20 when she became pregnant with her first š¤š©šŖšš„, Stormi, with ex Travis Scott. They went on to welcome their second š¤š©šŖšš„, a šššš¦ boy, in 2022.
However, Kylie JennerĀ ‘s first pregnancyĀ was completely unplanned: “Stormi was not in my life plan. But it happened, but I knew I always wanted a šššš¦. I really wanted a šššš¦,” the 27-year-old beauty shared in an interview withĀ British VogueĀ magazine .
Reflecting on herĀ journey to motherhoodĀ , the youngest of the Kardashian family recalled: “I was only 20 when I got pregnant, 21 when I gave šš¢š«šš”. It was crazy. But looking back, I give myself more empathy and tolerance. Even though I was very young, I think my behavior was like a mother with 10 years of experience. I didn’t realize it right away. But it was a big change inĀ lifeĀ .”
“I had severe postpartumĀ depressionĀ . Stormi lasted a year. Aire had a similar period. WhenĀ I was pregnantĀ , I wore sweatpantsĀ everyĀ day, I didn’t have time to figure out even the smallest things in life. I didn’t know how to dress. Then postpartum lasted a year. I had a hard time mentally as well as hormonal changes in my body,” Kylie revealed toĀ VogueĀ .
Kylie shares the struggles of being a young mother, but she doesn’t let it get to her: “No matter what I’m going through, what the internet says about me or what I look like, I don’t let it affect me. I think they’re obsessed with me and it’s taught me to take life a little easier. I’m like, ‘Okay, I have these beautiful kids at home and they think I’m the most perfect person inĀ the worldĀ . So I don’t need any other validation from the outside.'”
“I feel like people don’t show me or women in general enough empathy. I saw the picture online and people accused me of doing drugs or something. I’ve lost weight and my current weight is pretty ideal, but people still put together pictures of me before and after giving šš¢š«šš” to make fun of me. I wonder: ‘Have people forgotten that I’ve had two š¤š©šŖšš„ren?’
