The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar this year saw NBA stars like LeBron James being indirectly affected. The LA Lakers star wasn’t part of the feud, but he was name-dropped in one of Lamar’s diss tracks. Some fans also used his connection to the rapper to theorize the side he’s chosen.

While James hasn’t explicitly stated if he’s siding with Lamar or Drake, one of his friends appears to have made his choice. Cuffs the Legend made his feelings known after Lamar was announced as the headlining performer for Super Bowl LIX.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Cuffs the Legend accused the music industry of carrying out an orchestrated attack on Drake.
“Even Stevie Wonder can see this was a full blown orchestrated attack by the music industry to knock Drake off his throne,” Cuffs the Legend posted. “They know they can’t make better MUSIC than the boy so they turned a rap beef into colorism.”
The feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake might have started more than a decade ago when the former featured in ‘Control,’ but it didn’t heat up until this year.
Lamar reignited the feud after he claimed that there’s no “big three” in hip-hop, which was a response to J. Cole, who name-dropped him and Drake. This led to a series of diss tracks being launched from both Drake and Lamar.
A new chapter of the feud appears to have arrived with the announcement that Kendrick Lamar is performing in next year’s Super Bowl.
LeBron James and other NBA stars were spotted at a Kendrick Lamar concert
Back in June, Kendrick Lamar held a concert in LA. His show attracted plenty of NBA stars, including LeBron James, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden and Russel Westbrook.
The basketball stars were seen vibing to various Lamar tracks. DeRozan and Westbrook even got up on stage with the rapper. Their appearance in the concert was taken as a sign by fans that they had chosen a side.
Fans also came out with a slew of memes against Drake as he was known to have a friendship with James and DeRozan. James even went up on stage with Drake and Travis Scott to perform Sicko Mode one time.
This past summer, during a Team USA practice in preparation for the Paris Olympics, James was heard saying he loved Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’, while Steph Curry appeared to already be sick of the track.
LeBron James stating that he liked the diss track aimed at Drake gave fans more evidence in their theory that he picked a side.
