Right now, Kim Kardashian has a whole list of titles to her name. She’s a reality star, a shapewear founder, a mom of four, an aspiring lawyer, and, most recently, an actress. With all that going on, it’s safe to say she has a lot on her plate. And, as a new source indicates, it’s started to be a little overwhelming.
According to a new source for Life & Style, the American Horror Story: Delicate star has high hopes for her acting career and is making that her top priority. “Kim is broadening her horizons and banking on her fruitful relationship with TV producer Ryan Murphy to become a full-blown dramatic actress,” the source said.
But as she focuses on her acting projects, her other ventures are ending up on the back burner. “She’s always stretched thin — that’s nothing new — but this is the first time in her adult life that making The Kardashians isn’t her No. 1 professional priority,” the source said.
THE KARDASHIANS, Kim Kardashian, ‘Who Is Kim K?’, (Season 1, ep. 105, aired May 12, 2022).
Unsurprisingly, that shift in priorities isn’t exactly good news for her mom and manager, Kris Jenner. After all, she built her and her family’s empire based on those reality TV shows.
“If you know Kris, she has said for years that she wants The Kardashians franchise to go on forever, and the reality show is still super important to Khloé and Kourtney especially,” the insider said.
“Kris put so much work into moving the franchise to Hulu and updating it for the streaming era,” they added. “It would be a real shame if it ended after a short run. But that doesn’t change the fact that Kim has found this new passion for acting, and that means a lot of 18-hour shooting days where the reality TV camera can’t follow her around.”
“That in itself is totally uncharted territory for Kris,” they added.
As a reminder, Keeping Up With the Kardashians ran for a whopping 20 seasons on E! between 2007 and 2021. In 2022, they transitioned to streaming on Hulu under a new title, The Kardashians, and have released five seasons so far.

So could The Kardashians move on without Kim? Well, while some fans might argue that there’s plenty of content with all the other sisters – from new relationships to cheating scandals and new babies – others might say that Kim is, and has always been, the show’s main character. Losing her, therefore, would be quite a toll.
“Kris would rather make fewer episodes a year, but have full access to Kim than have to make a bunch of episodes that barely feature her,” the source said.
“For now, Hulu is going along with that plan,” the insider added, noting that the streaming service is also producing Kim’s upcoming series All’s Fair. “They want both shows to work.”
Looks like Kim will have to continue her impressive balancing act moving forward. From an actress to one of the biggest reality stars out there, she’ll have to do it all!
