I have the most DISGUSTING job wading through ‘poo pools’ & make £1,000s – no one wants my gig but I love it

A WOMAN who works at a sewage plant has revealed what it’s like to have such a disgusting job.

Australian influencer Genie, who goes by ‘Geniebobeanie’ on TikTok, uploads videos to her 14,000 followers talking about her life working at a waste treatment facility.

She gave her followers a virtual tour of the waste treatment tanks, which she creatively calls “poo pools”.

“They’re not actually called that but I just call it that because, I mean, they’re big pools of poop.”

She added: “If I was to fall in, they probably wouldn’t be able to get me out.”

The social media star then described how one of the pools was bubbling because it was being “aerated”.

She went on: “A not so fun fact about that is that you can’t float in aerated water.

“So if I was to fall in, I would sink all the way down to the bottom and they probably wouldn’t be able to get me out.

“And they don’t look very deep, but they go all the way down underground. It’s also all raw sewage.”

Some of her popular sewage-themed videos include hit titles like ‘Using the toilet at the sewage treatment plant and then running outside really fast to see if I can find it’.

In another humourous clip, she says that when she gets bored of the facility, she likes to “guess whose poop is whose”.

She then points towards the sewage pits and says: “Like that big one right there might be Anna Paul’s.

“That one could be Margot Robbie’s.

“This whole tank is Chris Hemsworth for sure, who knows.”

In another video, she shows TikTok users “the worst part” of the sewage treatment plant – “the screens”.

This refers to the area where solid objects which are flushed down the drain are separated from liquid sewage.

She explains that this is done by a mechanism similar to a “big metal corkscrew”, where solids get stuck and liquids continue through.

“People flush towels, kids’ toys, clothing items… we found turtles in the screens before.

“Anything solid that goes down the drain or down the toilet ends up in the screens so you can probably imagine what that smells like.”

Hair is also apparently a common sight – meaning someone at the sewage plant has to dig out large clumps of thousands of people’s hair from the screens.

“That’s probably one of the worst, like, roles that you have sometimes, if you get really unlucky,” the influencer said.
