Bollywood is a strange world altogether. One moment you will read articles about two celebrities dating each other and the next moment, their breakup rumours will be all over the internet! One such alleged couple, who’s patch-up and break-up rumours flowed in at the same time was that of Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. While both are happily married to their respective loves, things weren’t the same back in 2011.
Priyanka and Shahid had starred in about two films, Kaminey and Teri Meri Kahaani together, with the latter failing to make a mark at the box office. The duo was also neighbours which further added to their dating speculations. Letting bygones be bygones, we spotted Shahid Kapoor at Priyanka Chopra’s wedding reception on December 20, 2018, where he went along with his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor. Like they say, the best is yet to come and the season 6 of Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, suffices it all! Next week’s episode (January 13, 2018), will see some lovey-dovey bromance between half-brothers, Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. With Shahid pulling brother, Ishaan Khatter’s leg with his co-star, Janhvi’s name, one statement that came from Shahid will surely steal all the limelight! A short glimpse of the promo had Shahid Kapoor blurt out an important advice for his once ex’s, now hubby when asked by Karan. He was quoted as saying, “Never back down buddy, you’re with the original Desi Girl (winks).” Well, that suffices all!
As far as Shahid and Priyanka’s once relationship is concerned, after hanging around for a bit, the alleged couple broke all ties. In a chat show, Shahid had shared that once a famous co-star of his had cheated on him. Was he hinting on Priyanka? Also, as per a throwback DNA report, Priyanka’s house was raided by the income tax department in 2011, when she had called Shahid to the rescue. Priyanka had herself revealed the same back then and shared, “Yes, Shahid was there at my apartment when it (the income tax raids) happened. He lives just three minutes away from my home and it was but natural for me to give him a call when all that was happening. My mother was also supposed to be there but she couldn’t make it. So I gave him a call and he rushed to my apartment just as he was (reportedly in shorts).”
Even after their rumoured breakup, the Batti Gul Meter Chalu star had always praised Priyanka in public. When he was once asked to comment about PeeCee’s Hollywood stint, Shahid congratulated her and stated, “Priyanka is doing amazingly well I am very happy for her. She has made all of us proud. She always had the potential to become an international star and she has proved it.” During the promotions of the same film, he was once asked to comment on his once muse’s marriage and he had shared, “Many, many congratulations to Priyanka and Nick. Marriage is a beautiful thing, I can say that from my experience and I wish her all the best.”
Coming back to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s relationship, the newly-wed couple is riding high on love these days. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Jealous star revealed about his wife and life after marriage and had revealed, “My life is very good right now, very excited, lots of good things coming up. It’s been a good year.” Further talking about Priyanka, he said, “It was kind of an instant thing. I knew once we locked in together that I had a partner for life and a teammate… someone I could walk through the good times and the bad times with, and that was the key.” Post which, a blushing-Nick added, “I am blushing now… thanks”.
In an interview with People magazine, Priyanka spoke about her wedding and had stated, “It was all tears. All tears. I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared. But as soon as the curtains opened, and I saw his face it was just like everything settled and I knew I was making the best decision of my life.
