Kamala Harris’ dating history before marrying Doug Emhoff from Willie Brown affair to TV host Montel Williams fling

AMERICA may soon have a history-making first gentleman in the White House come November.

But before marrying Douglas Emhoff, Vice President Kamala Harris had a string of high-profile relationships.

Emhoff and Harris met in 2013, just one year before they wed.

He is a California-based entertainment attorney also licensed to practice in Washington DC.

“Along with an active public life, [Emhoff] is passionately involved in numerous community, civic and charitable activities that include legal aid, human rights, social justice and the well-being of 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren,” his bio with the firm DL Piper, where he is a partner, read.

But Harris, presumed to be the Democratic Party’s 2024 nominee after Joe Biden announced he is no longer running, most notably dated San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown and talk show host Montel Williams before her current marriage.

It comes as:

  • Kamala Harris secures enough support to win Democratic nomination
  • Biden admits stepping aside is “in the best interest” of the Democratic Party
  • He immediately endorses Vice President Kamala Harris, who vows to “earn” the Democratic nomination
  • Trump slams Biden as the “worst president in history” and says Kamala will be “easier to defeat”
  • House Speaker Mike Johnson, GOP VP nominee JD Vance, and other GOP call on Biden to resign if he’s “not fit to run”

MAYOR WILLIE BROWN

Brown, who was separated from his wife at the time of his relationship with Harris in the mid-1990s, confirmed the pair dated in an article for the San Francisco Chronicle.

The 2019 article titled, Sure, I dated Kamala Harris. So what?, detailed his support for Harris’ first race to be San Francisco district attorney and his influence on her career.

“Yes, we dated,” the former mayor, 90, wrote in his op-ed.

Harris met Brown in 1994 when he was speaker of the state Assembly, according to Heavy.

At the time, the future vice president was just 29, while Brown was 60.

Some have also accused Harris of benefiting “professionally from the personal relationship,” according to LA Mag.

Brown reportedly gave Harris a BMW and appointed her to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and later to the Medical Assistance Commission, according to USA Today.

Those positions paid Harris more than $400,000 over five years, according to the outlet.

But things did not end well between the pair.

In 1995, Brown described their relationship as a “long affair,” despite no longer being with his wife.

In 2003, Harris told San Francisco Weekly that her and Brown’s relationship was an “albatross” around her neck.

In his 2019 op-ed, Brown said he helped Harris and plenty of other politicians with their careers.

“The difference is that Harris is the only one who, after I helped her, sent word that I would be indicted if I ‘so much as jaywalked’ while she was D.A.,” he wrote.

“That’s politics for ya,” the former mayor said.

MONTEL WILLIAMS

Harris also dated talk show host Montel Williams.

“Kamala Harris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what?” Williams said in a post addressing their past relationship on X in 2019, Twitter at the time.

“I have great respect for Senator Harris,” he continued.

Williams told TMZ that he would be willing to vote for his ex come November.

He clarified that he would be willing to vote for anybody on the ballot opposite Trump, including Harris.

Before she secured enough delegates on Monday to formally be named the Democratic nominee, Williams posted on X that he would love to see Maryland Governor Wes Moore on the ticket.

But he later retweeted a tweet shared by Moore endorsing Harris.

Aside from Brown, Williams, and Emhoff, Harris’ other relationships are not widely known.
