The Kansas City Chiefs player shares a sweet bond with his half-sister Mia Randall
Patrick Mahomes has a great support system, and that includes his younger sister Mia Randall.
Over the years, Mia has been one of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s biggest cheerleaders, supporting him at many games alongside his mother Randi and brother Jackson. (Patrick has two other half-siblings through his father Pat Mahomes, including his brother Graham and sister Zoe.)
Mia was by Patrick’s side when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2023 and 2020 and will likely cheer him on again as the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at the 2024 Super Bowl.
Though Patrick and Mia have a significant age gap, they still share a special bond. His mother Randi recently told PEOPLE that both Patrick and his wife Brittany Mahomes regularly stay in touch with Mia and keep tabs on everything she’s doing.
Plus, Mia seems to be following in her famous brother’s footsteps as an athlete, participating in a variety of sports.
Here’s everything to know about Patrick’s little sister and their special bond.
She’s Patrick’s half-sister
Mia is Patrick’s half-sister, whom his mom Randi welcomed through a different relationship (that she hasn’t publicly discussed) in July 2011 in July 2011.
(Patrick also has two other half-siblings on his father Pat’s side: a brother named Graham Walker and a sister named Zoe Mahomes. Though Graham tends to keep a low profile, with Pat previously telling FOX4 that he “stays away from the spotlight,” Zoe has cheered Patrick on at a few games and even met up with Taylor Swift during a Chiefs game she attneded with Pat Sr.)
Patrick and Mia have almost a 16-year age gap
Mia was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in July 2011 and Patrick was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in September 1995, meaning they have almost a 16-year age difference. In fact, Randi told PEOPLE Mia was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 about two weeks before Patrick started dating his high school sweetheart and now-wife Brittany.
Randi added that she initially worried that Patrick and Mia “wouldn’t really know each other” because of the gap, but the mother-of-three says all of her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren have fostered “special” relationships with one another.
Patrick and Brittany are always “keeping tabs” on Mia
Reflecting on Patrick and Mia’s tight bond, Randi told PEOPLE that her son and his wife Brittany are regularly “keeping tabs on what Mia’s doing” when they can’t be together.
“It’s a fun relationship for them to have, and being that I was so nervous they wouldn’t know each other, I can say now that they know each other,” she said.
She added that Brittany has really taken on the big sister role with Mia.
“I love her,” Randi said of her daughter-in-law. “I always tell Mia, I’m like, ‘Brittany is like your sister, not just your sister-in-law.’ She loves my 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren as much as I love them.”
She plays sports like her brother
Just like her big brother, Mia has a love of sports, including football. Randi told PEOPLE, “My daughter’s more of a football fan than any fan at all, she knows who’s playing out there, what their number is, what they look like out of uniform, she knows that.”
Additionally, Mia plays a lot of sports. Her mother Randi regularly shares photos of her athleticism, showing Mia playing volleyball, tennis, basketball, softball and more.
She’s an aunt
Though Mia is only 12 years old, she’s already an aunt thanks to her big brother Patrick. The football star and his wife Brittany have two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren together, a daughter named Sterling Skye 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 on Feb. 20, 2021, and a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 on Nov. 28, 2022.
She regularly supports Patrick at games
Mia regularly attends Chiefs games to support her brother Patrick, which her mother Randi documents on social media. After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, securing their spot in the 2024 Super Bowl, Randi excitedly reacted to the win on Instagram. Alongside a photo of her with Mia, Brittany, her son Jackson and Taylor Swift, she wrote, “Chiefs headed to Super Bowl!! My team! My family! #15”
She’s a Taylor Swift fan
As Swift has grown closer with Patrick and Brittany amid her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the singer has mingled with Mia on a few occasions. In October 2023, Randi shared photos on Instagram of her youngest 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 posing with the “Red” singer during the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
“I love how sweet Taylor was to my girl!!” Randi wrote as she shared the post on her Instagram story, adding the “girl power” hashtag to the post.
Though she has hung out with Swift at a few Chiefs games since, it seems she’s also a Swiftie herself. In August 2023, Randi shared a sweet picture of her and Mia at the singer’s Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium, writing, “Taylor Swift LA ”
