The “Devil Wears Prada” star will share the stage with Anna Wintour.
Anne Hathaway is now hosting the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards, replacing Sarah Jessica Parker.
The CFDA shared news of the swap on Tuesday afternoon, less than a week out from the event, set for Nov. 6. Parker is “unable to host the awards ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances,” per a press release. Hathaway, who famously starred in the 2006 classic “The Devil Wears Prada,” will share the stage with Vogue‘s Anna Wintour. We can’t help but see this as an opportunity for a comedic reunion after the two of them sat front row together at Michael Kors in September, Hathaway dressed suspiciously similar to her character in that film, Andy Sachs.
“The CFDA is thrilled that Anne, a native New Yorker and a performer with extensive experience in theater and film, has agreed to host the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards,” CEO Steven Kolb noted in a press release. “We are looking forward to her bringing her infectious energy and charm to the CFDA stage.”
Hathaway will also present the American Womenswear Designer of the Year Award alongside Narciso Rodriguez. This year’s awards, which are presented by Amazon Fashion, will happen at the American Museum of Natural History with a variety of nominees competing for the win across categories like womenswear, menswear, accessories and emerging talent. Some awards were previously announced, like Vera Wang receiving the Board of Director’s Tribute.
