“It’s 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing the f—king art form”: Quentin Tarantino’s Scary Prediction Came True After Bashing Keanu Reeves’ $1.7B Franchise That Almost Starred Sandra Bullock

Quentin Tarantino realized the need for realism in his films after watching Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix.

Quentin Tarantino has always been a man of many words. With a reputation as grand as his and the directorial talent that he is engulfed by, there is no doubt that he is seen as one of the most respected directors in Hollywood. There is an exquisite range of movies that he has done and they are all just as critically acclaimed as any of his works.

In a time when artificial intelligence is threatening to take over some of the most successful industries, the Hollywood industry faces a similar issue. Tarantino seemed to have gotten an epiphany while watching Keanu Reeves’ The Matrix, one he saw to be the impending doom of cinema as a whole. Unfortunately, it became true as time progressed.

Quentin Tarantino Came to a Realization After Watching the Matrix

Quentin Tarantino saw the way movies would transition much earlier than anyone would have guessed. The use of artificial intelligence and CGI has made the art of moviemaking an expensive and tedious process, one that Tarantino does not enjoy. When speaking to Empire, the director explained how it was Keanu Reeves‘ The Matrix that helped him come to the realization.

The Matrix star, Keanu Reeves

“You know, my guys are all real. There’s no computer f*cking around. I’m sick to death of all that shit. This is old school with f*cking cameras. If I’d wanted all that computer game bullsh*t, I’d have gone home and stuck my d*ck in my Nintendo.”

He talked about how each and every scene in his movies is done purely in the face of realism. He does not like how much the world of cinema is relying on computers. However, it was how he stated the end of cinema would come by that is truly a haunting fact.

Quentin Tarantino Predicted the Fall of Cinema

While talking to Empire, the director focused on how the more movies rely on computers, the more expensive they would become to make. This, unfortunately, is absolutely true. In today’s time, a movie that is not above $100 Million in terms of budget is regarded as a small-scale film.

Quentin Tarantino

“This CGI bullsh*t is the death knell of cinema. Movies are far too f*cking expensive at the moment, and it’s 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing the f*cking art form. The way it’s going, in ten years, it will officially be 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed.”

Tarantino addressed how this would be the root cause for Cinema to stop being an art and start being a commercial agenda. Eerily enough, this prediction was made in 2003, exactly two decades before his words stand as concrete facts.
