Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts are the 2023 Player of the Year finalists for the Players Choice Awards, the MLBPA announced Tuesday.
Ohtani hit an AL-high 44 homers with an MLB-best 1.066 OPS. On the mound, he posted a 3.14 ERA with 11.4 K/9 over 23 starts before going down with an elbow injury.
Acuña became the first player ever to reach the 40-50, 40-60, and 40-70 clubs. He finished his season with an unprecedented 41 long balls and 73 stolen bases.
Betts slashed .307/.408/.579 with 39 round-trippers and 107 RBIs out of the leadoff spot. He also played Gold Glove-caliber defense in the outfield and at second base.

The winners will be announced Thursday, Nov. 2, on ESPN at 6 p.m. ET.
