They don’t know if he’ll play in the second game, either.
Mike Trout made his long-awaited return to the Angels lineup on Tuesday, going 1-for-4 in his first game since July 3.
Trout was out for about seven weeks with a broken hamate bone, but was able to come back without a rehab assignment.
On Wednesday, the Angels and Reds have a doubleheader due to the postponed game on Monday from the after-effects of Hurricane Hilary. And in the first game of the doubleheader, Trout is not in the lineup.
Trout is reportedly sore after playing his first game in seven weeks, which makes a lot of sense. On the bright side, Angels manager Phil Nevin said it’s not a concern, as they expected some soreness after not playing for so long.

The team is not sure if he’ll play in the second game of the doubleheader, either. Hopefully, the Angels star is able to get back in there for the series finale.
First pitch for that game is 6:38 p.m. PT.
