Brazilian superstar Neymar got a grand welcome from the Al-Hilal supporters, marking his entry into the roster of illustrious football figures secured by the affluent Saudi Pro League. The 31-year-old forward graced the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, sharing the spotlight with two additional acquisitions- Brazilian counterpart Malcolm and Moroccan shot-stopper Yassine Bounou. Neymar signed a two-year deal after moving from Paris St Germain. While financial details were not disclosed, the transfer is reported to be for a fee of about 100 million euros plus add-ons. The footballer’s unveiling took place against a backdrop of excitement, witnessed by about 60,000 soccer enthusiasts. During the proceedings, his name also appeared in the skies above Al-Hilal’s home base spelled by drones, announcing ‘Neymar is Blue.’ The Al-Hilal contract makes Neymar Saudi Pro League’s third best-paid footballer, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December last year and his former Real Madrid teammate Benzema signed for Al Ittihad on a free transfer this summer.
