Golf has become a perfect recreational pursuit for many superstar athletes, including the likes of NBA star LeBron James and MLB legend Derek Jeter. All spend their time on the greens, perfecting their swings while away from their professional duties. But for passion, the Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout defeats them all, which is visible in his adventures on the greens.
The 11 times MLB All-Star enjoys his favorite golf when not on the baseball field. To add to such a die-hard sports passion, Trout is making a golf course at his home under the guidance of legend Tiger Woods. But it’s not free of challenges, and Trout discussed it during a recent interview with his fellow MLB All-Star, Mookie Betts.
Mike Trout Discusses the Off-Season Challenges That MLB Brings
After baseball, Trout’s next athletic love lies in golf, as he thoroughly enjoys spending time on the greens. However, because of the long MLB season and a short off period, Trout has little time for his other favorite sport. A few weeks ago, Trout appeared as a guest on the show “On Base with Mookie Betts.” The two baseball stars conversed about many things, including Trout’s love for golf, related challenges, and his dream project.
Sharing details on his golf course project, Trout said, “It was pretty cool because I played a lot of great golf courses. And I get to figure out like, Hey, I like this. I don’t like that. I love being out on a golf course not seeing houses, I think. Okay. So I think just putting little things like that into a course and making it like your own.”
While addressing the challenges in pursuing his dream, Trout added, “I mean, yeah. Honestly, I wish I obviously during the season, you know, all seasons I’m involved a lot because there are a lot of meetings every day. During the season, it’s tough.”
Planned to be designed and completed with the help of Tiger Woods, Trout Reserve is the baseball star’s dream golf course in Vineland. Per courierpostonline.com, it is part of the Magic Sports Complex. They project the entire complex to be built at around $350 million. Initially planned in 2012, nothing much has materialized, but Trout could bring this to life with his golf project.
From Patrick Mahomes to LeBron James: Betts and Trout’s Tee-rific Athlete Swing Commentary
Betts is quite the avid golfer himself, and his knowledge of the sport shows in his discussion with Trout. After chatting about the unique friendship between Woods and Trout, the two players take a look at different Top Golf athletes. Starting with the Angels player, the baseball duo critiques his form.
