When a fan enquired about the meaning of “I’m Him,” LeBron James responded in a mysterious manner on Instagram.

Trust LeBron James to quote a line from his favorite Jay-Z song when a fan asked what “I’m Him” means.

It’s not even a subtle flex from James, who has gone on to call himself one of the greatest players to have played the sport. He’s been dominating the league for 20 years, and he had his say by responding to the fan query on his Instagram story.

For those unaware, the lines are from Jay-Z’s ‘What More Can I Say?’ from his ‘The Black Album.’

The first time James used the phrase that’s now making waves across the sporting world was during his appearance on ‘The Shop.’ When asked about his thoughts about the consequences of missing a shot, he responded:

“I cared about what everybody else thought, I don’t give a F**k now … It probably changes about 25. I spend like seven years and then I went to Miami that first year and everything was still about what everybody else thought and then I was just like, ‘I don’t give a f**k, nobody think, I’m him if I don’t take it, who gonna take it.'”

And now, the King has made another solid statement when asked about the meaning of the term. Guess that answered the fan’s question.

Austin Reaves Had His “I’m Him” Moment This Season With The Lakers

Earlier this season, it was Los Angeles Lakers’ young guard Austin Reaves who had his “I’m Him” moment after a masterful performance against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.

Reaves exploded for 23 points on an 8-of-13 shooting, and it all came to a head when he had an emotional burst asserting, “I’m Him.” This even had James lauding the player for his efforts.

“I knew from the first practice that he wasn’t going to be two-way for long …” James said in the aftermath of the win. “I’ve been around the game long enough to know great basketball IQ players, and I know the type of players that fit with my game, and I knew Austin would be that right away.”

The Lakers will be fine as long as they have James leading from the front and amid all the speculation of retirement, the veteran will surely aim for one more title before retiring and have his glorious “I’m Him” moment.
