Real Madrid handed boost as PSG will pay part of Mbappe’s loyalty bonus to force exit

As the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga drags on, there appears to be a new development in the story if an update from Ramon Alvarez is to be believed.

Mbappe has made it clear that he will not renew his contract with PSG beyond 2024 and the club are firm that they will not let him leave for free next year.

As such, Les Parisiens wish to offload the 24-year-old right away, but the player is unwilling to do so as he could miss out on €150 million in salary and loyalty bonus payments.

There have been suggestions that Mbappe could agree to depart if PSG paid him part of the loyalty bonus that he would receive next year. And now, as per the update from Ramon Alvarez, PSG are willing to agree to that condition so that they can part ways with him.

As such, an agreement between the forward and the French champions over a departure seems to be close, which will come as a huge boost for Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have been hot on Mbappe’s trails for a long time now and have come close to signing him in each of the last two transfer windows without actually succeeding.

But, with things moving in the right direction now, there is a good chance that the Spanish capital giants could be in a great position to secure the 24-year-old’s signing.

It is expected that Mbappe could cost around €200 million in transfer fees, but the total worth of the operation could rise to a much higher figure once wages, commissions and bonus payments are included.

Either way, the progress in discussions between Mbappe and PSG is a good sign for Real Madrid and their chances of signing Mbappe.
