NEW Epstein files have finally revealed the so-called missing minute of prison footage filmed hours before the disgraced financier’s death.
A figure appeared to be moving toward Jeffrey Epstein’s cell in the eerie clip that the Trump administration previously claimed didn’t even exist.
A huge dump of files relating to convicted 𝓈ℯ𝓍 offender Epstein was released on Tuesday after massive pressure from campaigners, including some MAGA figures.
Much was already in the public domain, but there is some significant new material in the files that date back to 2005.
Amongst the release is nearly 14 hours of CCTV footage from inside Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where Epstein was being held when he died on the night of August 9, 2019.
He was awaiting trial for 𝓈ℯ𝓍 trafficking of minors, and a recent probe has concluded that he 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed himself – despite rampant conspiracy theories suggesting otherwise.
The footage gives the view of one camera from 6 pm on August 9 to 7 am the next morning – including the moment Epstein was found hanging in his cell at 6:33 am.
This is two more hours than the July release.
Crucially, there was a minute missing from the July footage – the clock ticked from 11:58:58 to midnight, skipping out 62 seconds.
But this time around, it’s all there.
At 11:59:40, during the newly-uncovered minute, you can clearly see a guard stepping out from behind the desk and walking across the communal area towards the right of the screen – and the staircase leading to Epstein’s cell.
The left side of the staircase can just be made out, to the left of the red vertical beam.
Huge Jeffrey Epstein document dump released by US govt as 33,000 files about notorious paedo now available
However, only a small slice is visible, meaning it’s impossible to tell whether the guard climbed the stairs.
Attorney General Pam Bondi previously claimed that the minute was missing from the first release due to the prison‘s outdated CCTV system.
She said, “What we learned from Bureau of Prisons was every night the video is reset, and every night should have the same minute missing.”
That statement now appears untrue – seeing as the minute is not in fact missing.
CALLS FOR JUSTICE
Sex trafficking survivors who suffered at the hands of Epstein and his partner in crime Ghislaine Maxwell gathered to campaign for further protections for abuse victims after the files were released.
They were joined by politicians like GOP Representative Thomas Massie, who has authored a discharge petition to release all of the files.
The petition has garnered some bipartisan support from Republican outliers like Marjorie Taylor Green, Lauren Boebert, and Nancy Mace.
In the press conference held outside Capitol Hill, one survivor suggested that the women were ready to pen their own client list of abusers who frequented Epstein’s private jet and island.
“We know the names. Many of us were abused by them,” said model Lisa Phillips, who previously claimed that her friend had slept with Prince Andrew on the orders of Epstein.
“We will compile the names we all know were regularly in the Epstein world.”
The victims went on to claim that Ghislaine, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for conspiring to 𝓈ℯ𝓍ually abuse minors, was moved to a cushy facility.
Anouska De Georgiou, who has previously said that she was sucked into Epstein’s orbit in the 90s when she was working as a teenage model, said she was “horrified” to learn Maxwell is in a lower security facility.
She called the prison a “holiday camp.”
“This woman abused 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren,” she said at the conference.
When asked about Maxwell being potentially pardoned, Georgiou said it was “one of my worst nightmares.”
Sky Roberts, the brother of whistleblower Virginia Giuffre, who was one of the most prominent Epstein accusers, also spoke out, months after his beloved sister died by suicide.
Roberts said that the issue isn’t political, but was about “doing what’s right.”
“And this is about ensuring that the future we leave behind isn’t one where the powerful can hide behind their wealth, their influence and their money to evade justice,” he said.
Meanwhile, at a news conference held after the victims spoke, Donald Trump blasted the victims’ statements and said, “This is a Democrat hoax that never ends.”
He compared it to the JFK assassination files that were released in March, and said, “We gave them everything […] nobody is ever satisfied.”
“These are sick people, and I think we’re going to have a tremendous midterm,” he told reporters.
There was further controversy around the first release of the jail footage because the Department of Justice claimed it was the “raw” – though various clues suggested that might not be the case.
First of all, a cursor could be seen moving across the screen at one point – indicating it might be a screen recording rather than a raw file.
Further analysis revealed that the video was likely made from two clips stitched together.
The more complete footage was released yesterday by the House of Representatives Oversight Committee amid a probe into potential ethics violations among elected officials.
Committee officials have also met with survivors of Epstein’s abuse.
The discussion with survivors left top Republican Rep Nancy Mace in tears.
Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna said: “This is a lot bigger than anyone anticipated.”
She added: “There are some rich and powerful people that need to go to jail.
“I think everyone’s frustrated as to why that hasn’t happened before.”
A staggering 33,295 pages of material handed over by the Justice Department after a subpoena from chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) were released by the committee on Tuesday.
The files cover Epstein’s sprawling 𝓈ℯ𝓍-trafficking network and his partner-in-crime Ghislaine Maxwell.
The trove includes old court filings, police bodycam footage of searches, and interviews with victims — their faces blurred to protect identities.
Much of it has been seen before, but the sheer scale of the release is unprecedented.
Resurfaced videos in the release showed inside the paedophile’s lair – decorated with a massive collection of photos nude women and Epstein’s meetings with high-profile figures.
Naked ladies look out from frames in Epstein’s bathrooms, hallways, his personal gym, and several offices.
His accomplice girlfriend and convicted 𝓈ℯ𝓍 trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell features in over a dozen photographs – including one nude shot of her lounging on a beach.
There are also photos of Epstein with people such as Pope John Paul II and Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Maxwell confirmed that these high-profile meetings took place in either 2002 or 2003 during her interview with Trump DOJ officials released last month.
The footage from inside Epstein’s house comes from 2005 – when a criminal investigation was first launched into him by local police in Palm Beach, Florida.
It wound up with a controversial deal where the multi-millionaire pleaded guilty to state prostitution charges and, in exchange, Miami-based federal prosecutors promised not to bring charges.
Pressure is now mounting on Congress to go further.
