List of All Future Aircraft Carriers and Helicopter Carriers of the USA

In a bold move that reshapes the future of U.S. naval power, the United States Navy is ramping up its investment in next-generation aircraft carriers and helicopter carriers, set to redefine maritime dominance through the 2030s and beyond. This strategic initiative highlights the urgency of adapting to increasingly contested maritime environments, as the Navy introduces cutting-edge vessels designed for flexibility and global reach.

The USS Bougainville (LHA-8), the first of the Flight I America-class amphibious assault ships, is on track for delivery before 2026. This ship marks a significant return to hybrid amphibious capability, combining robust aviation capacity with a well deck for launching amphibious craft. With a displacement of over 45,693 tons, Bougainville is poised to enhance the Navy’s expeditionary reach in critical regions like the Indo-Pacific and Mediterranean.

Following closely is the USS Fallujah (LHA-9), under construction, with delivery expected around 2028. Named after a pivotal battle in the Iraq War, Fallujah will incorporate advanced survivability systems and enhanced electronic warfare defenses, ensuring operational readiness in high-risk environments.

The USS Helmand Province (LHA-10), officially named in 2024, promises to be the most technologically advanced of its class, integrating unmanned systems and AI-assisted battle management, setting a new standard for future naval operations.

On the aircraft carrier front, the USS Enterprise (CVN-80) is under construction, with a launch anticipated in November 2025. This third Ford-class carrier will leverage digital engineering for enhanced operational capabilities and is set to become a flagship for deterrence and power projection.

Additionally, the USS Doris Miller (CVN-81) and USS William J. Clinton (CVN-82) are on the horizon, with groundbreaking features that include support for sixth-generation aircraft and advanced cyber defenses. The USS George W. Bush (CVN-83), the latest Ford-class carrier, is expected to push the envelope even further with autonomous aviation elements and hypersonic missile defense.

As these formidable vessels take shape, the U.S. Navy is not just preparing for future conflicts; it is redefining what maritime power will look like in an era of unprecedented challenges. The stakes have never been higher, and the world watches as the U.S. Navy fortifies its strategic backbone.
