Draymond Green Reveals Players Holding The Ball At The End Of Quarters Instead Of Shooting Drives Stephen Curry Nuts

The Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is viewed as the greatest shooter of all time. Evidently, Curry is never afraid of shooting the ball, regardless of the situation he is in.

Be it the first shot of the game or the final seconds of a quarter, if Curry has the ball in hand, he will launch a shot. However, many players in the NBA tend to hold the ball instead of taking a shot to prevent their shooting percentage from dropping. Draymond Green recently revealed that this practice drives Stephen Curry ‘nuts.’

“Steph Curry, he made me aware about this through the years,” Green said on a recent episode of the Draymond Green Show. “There’s guys holding on to the ball at the end of a quarter so they don’t lessen their shooting percentage, and I saw a couple of guys do that yesterday.”

Green added: “This is the NBA playoffs, man. It’s the NBA Finals! Who cares if your shooting percentage drops a little bit? That thing drives Steph Curry nuts. Steph gonna be very upset if you just holding the ball and not shoot.”

Draymond then explained the reason behind Stephen Curry’s thought process on this.

“Quite frankly, Steph is the best shooter we’ve ever seen,” Greens said. “The greatest shortest we’ve ever seen. So his numbers are going to even out anyway, and he’s going to get the attempts to even out. When you don’t quite get the attempts, it’s a tough thing.”

While Green understood why Stephen Curry believes in shooting instead of holding the ball at the end of quarters, he believes every player in the NBA doesn’t have the liberty of shooting as many threes as they want.

At the end of the day, shooting the ball is still better as it gives a team to add more points to their total.

Stephen Curry Wants One Last Dance With The Original Trio

Since 2015, the Golden State Warriors have been to six NBA Finals and won four titles. But the Warriors dynasty’s day of effortlessly dominating may be over.

They were eliminated in the second round of the 2023 playoffs by LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. Bob Myers stepped down as the general manager following the second-round exit.

Keeping that in mind, many believe that the Warriors dynasty is over. However, Curry reportedly wants the core of him, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green to be back on the roster for at least one more season.

“I think the most likely scenario is that the Warriors keep most of this together for at least one more season. That’s what Curry wants. His opinion sort of matters.”

The Warriors finished the 2022-23 NBA season as the sixth seed with a 44-38 record in the Western Conference.

They were the defending champions of the league but played like shells of themselves in the postseason. The Dubs barely managed to eliminate the Sacramento Kings in the first round over seven games and, as we mentioned earlier, were sent home by the Lakers in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Moreover, the trio of Steph, Klay, and Draymond are 35, 33, and 33 years old, respectively. Is bringing them back a good idea? Well, if that’s what Steph wants, the Warriors will abide by his request. After all, he is the greatest player ever to don the jersey of the Warriors.
