After 27 years together, David Beckham admits that he and Victoria Beckham have gone through many ups and downs and they are lucky to have each other in those moments.

Sharing on the SmartLess podcast recently, David Beckham said that he and his wife re-watched Beckham (2023) – a documentary about the life and career of this football star. The former England player confided: “After watching the documentary, we looked at each other, both of us didn’t know how we had gone through those 27 years but we did it, we overcame it and have a great family, great jobs and we are happy.”

The father of four continued: “Of course, when you’re with someone for that long, you go through ups and downs, everyone knows about those things, and in the end we were so lucky to have each other in those moments.”

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham began dating in 1997 after meeting at a charity football match. The couple married in 1999 and became the most sought-after couple in Britain. After 27 years together, they now have a happy family with 4 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren and are still influential names in the public eye.

Looking back on the past, the once famous football star confided: “She was a Spice Girls star and I was playing for Manchester United at that time . Even when we went through difficult times, we were always there for each other, nurturing our relationship together and that was the best thing.”

The English star expressed his happiness when he met his “other half” in his twenties, got married, and had his first son when he was 23. The 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren made them more connected and responsible for their family. Beckham said he was lucky to meet his wife because he always wanted to have 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren when he was young. The famous father is happy because he has a successful football career, playing for great teams.

He also shared what he is most proud of: “I always want my 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren to be by my side and witness my playing career. And I am very lucky that my three eldest 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren have been with me through most of the teams I have played for. That is an important part of my life for me.”

In their 27 years together, the Beckhams have gone through many marital upheavals, including the rumor that David had an affair with his personal assistant that caused a stir in 2003, along with countless rumors of a rift and divorce. To this day, the couple is still happy together, often appearing together at important events and sharing their happy daily life on social media.

In early May, David Beckham celebrated his 49th 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day. On the special occasion, Victoria Beckham posted an intimate moment with her husband and said: “Happy 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day David! I love that we’re growing old together. You can’t leave me! You’re everything to me and my 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, the best husband and father. We love you so much.”
