Anne Hathaway recently reflected on landing her breakthrough role in The Princess Diaries 24 years ago.

Hathaway, who turned 18 while filming the beloved comedy alongside Julie Andrews, shared a nostalgic story about her first big purchase with her paycheck, a pair of Diesel leather pants inspired by Angelina Jolie.

While speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Hathaway revealed, “I scouted this pair of leather pants for the longest time because I was the world’s biggest Angelina Jolie fan. When I got The Princess Diaries, I thought, ‘This is my first movie; I’m getting leather pants.’”

According to Cinema Blend, the decision was a nod to Jolie’s iconic style, which had captivated Hathaway during Jolie’s rise to fame with movies like Hackers, Girl, Interrupted, and Gone In 60 Seconds.

Moreover, Hathaway most recently turned heads while appearing in a Versace gown at The Idea Of You premiere.
