In a recent interview with Vogue France, Anne Hathaway opened up about her worries prior to having kids and some of her struggles in her motherhood journey. The “Devil Wears Prada” star revealed that she couldn’t imagine expanding her family until she was at a certain point in her career. Moreover, she was worried about not being able to get over it if she faced a pregnancy loss.

In an October 29 interview with Vogue France, Anne Hathaway revealed that she had “always wanted to be a mother.” However, she didn’t want pregnancy and motherhood to interfere with her career. Thus, she had set a “goal” to achieve a certain level in her professional life before considering having kids. This is the reason the actor had her first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 in her 30s.
Other than her acting career, Anne Hathaway had another big concern about motherhood and having kids. Trying for babies is not a smooth sailing journey and the “Princess Diaries” star didn’t have it easy. In the interview, she opened up about several of her pregnancies not being successful. The actor was worried about not being able to cope with the pain of losing her little one since she had always dreamed of becoming a mother.
Hathaway revealed that she “went through super difficult times” due to her pregnancy losses. However, she is grateful that she now has two adorable kids. Anne Hathaway is mom to two boys — Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman and Jack Shulman. Jonathan was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 2016 and Jack came three years later in 2019.
The actor has always been open about her struggle with infertility and miscarriages. In an interview with Vanity Fair earlier this year, she opened up about having suffered a miscarriage in 2015. Getting vulnerable about the unfortunate happening, she told the outlet, “It’s really hard to want something so much and to wonder if you’re doing something wrong.”
