David Alan Grier brought his joyful spirit to the 2024 Oscars, with his daughter by his side.
The iconic funnyman, 67, stepped out in support of The Color Purple with his 15-year-old daughter, Lulu Danbi Grier-Kim.
The teen looked chic in a two-piece black and yellow outfit, appearing with her dad as he stopped to speak on ABC’s On the Red Carpet at the Oscars Preview.
“I brought my beautiful daughter. This is my daughter Lulu,” he said, introducing the teen before telling a funny story about her.
“When Lulu was in grade school, the morning after the Oscars, she said ‘Daddy, I want you to take me to the Oscars next year,’ ” he recalled.
“I said, ‘I’d love to. Now, I need you to get me a script. Get that script produced. It needs to be a good part. Something like where someone died. We’ll both get to the Oscars!’ But [here] we are, belatedly,” he laughed.
