Tesla Cybertruck Elon Musk silences crowd with 260-ft sled pull

Considering the negative news coverage attracted by the Tesla Cybertruck, it’s no surprise to see the all-electric pickup truck surprising people when it performs in a way that’s absolutely unexpected. This definitely seems to be the case in a recent video featuring a Cybertruck in a sled-pulling event.

The video, which was initially posted on the Tesla Cybertruck Facebook Group, shows a Cybertruck from NY-based storage business Kauffman Building reaching 260 feet in a sled pull. As observed by Tesla community members, such numbers are already comparable to 2500-3500 HD trucks.

The reactions of the sled pull event’s audience are quite amusing. Initially, the crowd seemed stunned as the Cybertruck started moving the sled. And at the end of its feat, some members of the crowd actually cheered loudly for the all-electric pickup truck.

Overall, it almost seemed like the audience was hesitant to acknowledge the Cybertruck, but after its 260-foot sled pull, it was difficult not to be impressed. And considering that the Cybertruck was wrapped with livery from the NY-based storage sled company, the vehicle’s participation at the event provided some advertisement for Kauffman Building.

This was not the first time the Cybertruck proved impressive in sled-pulling events. Over the past months, videos of Cybertrucks participating in such events have made the rounds online. Most of these videos showed the Cybertruck surprising people with its capabilities, and some have even shown the all-electric pickup truck completing a “full pull.”

Sled pulling is known fondly in the United States as the “world’s heaviest motorsport.” As noted by the National Truck Pullers Association on its official website, tractor pulling involves vehicles dragging a heavy metal sled along a prescribed course. Since the sled is filled with weight that is mechanically winched forward, vehicles will eventually lose forward momentum and torque. Some vehicles do reach the end of the course — a feat known as a “full pull.”

Watch Kauffman Building’s Cybertruck participate in a sled pull in the video below.
