A dance floor twist could be part of Jason Kelce’s most recent NFL retirement chance

Jason Kelce is happily retired from the NFL, so that means his future is wide open. He’s got his successful New Horizons podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, to look forward to as well as his new ESPN gig for Monday Night Football. But, there is also something else possibly on the horizon: Dancing With the Stars.

The 36-year-old former football star might join the ranks of other athletes who have done the show, including Simone Biles, Iman Shumpert, and Rashad Jennings. A source told The U.S. Sun that Jason was reportedly invited to join the Season 33 cast of Dancing With the Stars. “He wants to show his dancing s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s,” the insider claimed. “He will have to figure out his schedule, but he’s enthusiastic.”

The dance competition show moved to Tuesday nights in Season 32, so the former Philadelphia Eagles center will have time to run back to the ballroom to perform after his Monday night stint with ESPN. It would be challenging and hectic, but the source noted that “he also wants to do multiple things and loves TV shows.” The offers have been rolling in after he announced his retirement in March, but it seems like Dancing With the Stars is at the top of his list. ABC and Disney + are probably hoping he signs on for the show because they will be begging for a Travis and Taylor Swift sighting.

Swift performed on the show in Seasons 9, 11, and 15, and the show did its first-ever “Taylor Swift Night” last season. The couples danced to songs written by Swift as the show’s music director, Ray Chew, and the band sang their version of her singles. A sighting of the pop star after her European leg of the Eras Tour might send the ratings skyrocketing. Dancing With the Stars pro Jenna Johnson has already volunteered to partner with Jason if he signs onto the series.

“He just retired. I think it’s the perfect thing. If his wife wants to do it with Val, we could definitely do that,” Johnson told People in May while suggesting Jason’s wife, Kylie, do the show as well. “I know that he has some kids, so we could bond over parenting and stuff.”

NFL athletes have historically done well on Dancing With the Stars with Jennings, Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, and Donald Driver all winning the mirror ball trophy during their season. Could Jason be next?
