Bryson DeChambeau commissions $10K solid gold phone to celebrate US Open win over Rory McIlroy

Bryson DeChambeau decided to commemorate his second major victory in his career with a garish and extravagant gold cell phone.

DeChambeau commissioned a 24k gold Samsung phone that was produced by Irish company iDesign Gold – which makes ‘bespoke phones for sports stars around the world’.

The golfer received the phone over the weekend while competing in the LIV Golf Spain tournament in Andalucia.

Not only is the phone completely gold, but at a value of $9,750 – it’s been custom engraved to mark the 124th US Open with the tournament’s logo, the Pinehurst logo, and his name.

Even the screen saver has been customized to show DeChambeau lifting the US Open trophy.

After holding the lead through 54 holes, DeChambeau entered the final round in the hopes of capturing his second US Open crown.

He made things close with three bogeys and two birdies as McIlroy hunted him down from three-strokes back.

Despite getting bogeys on 15 and 16, McIlroy still maintained a lead over the American if he could just hold on at the 18th.

But McIlroy missed his par putt from just a few feet away on his final hole that would have forced a playoff between him and DeChambeau.

After hitting his second shot into the bunker, Bryson got up-and-down from 50 yards out to save par and win his first major since taking the US Open at Winged Foot in 2020.

iDesign Gold has produced phones for the likes of Lionel Messi, Conor McGregor, Kevin De Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe and many more.
