However, rumours about the Northern Irishman’s love life have showed no signs of slowing.

Those only served to ramp up after McIlroy shared a flirty interview with CBS Sports reporter Balionis.

And new pictures have now emerged following the interview showing the pair embracing in a hug.

It came right after their on-camera interview at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ontario, Canada concluded.

While fans at home were combing through the details of the interview for any hints, the pictures seem to tell a story of their own.

Balionis, 38, is believed to be going through a divorce of her own from Bryn Renner, an American football coach, and was seen without her wedding ring live on air – though this is unconfirmed.

Despite their rumoured relationship, according to US Weekly McIlroy and Balionis are NOT dating and only share a professional relationship.

There is also the consideration that the pair are also close friends.

McIlroy hit 13 under par at the Canadian Open to see him tie for fourth place.
