The legendary Rivaldo believes that a Real Madrid superstar has a great chance of winning the 2024 Golden Ball.

Brazilian legend Rivaldo believes that Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr. can beat Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe in the race to win the Golden Ball.

Speaking with Betfair, the former Barcelona and AC Milan striker had a lot of praise for his fellow countryman, saying that Vinicius is one of the three best players in the world today:

“Right now, with what Vinicius is doing at Real Madrid, he is definitely one of the most important players in the game for this club. Vinicius has a great chance to become the best player in the world and win the Ballon d’Or,” Rivaldo said.

“I can say that Vinicius is already among the three best players in the world, and this year, with what he did at Real Madrid, the way Vinicius played… he definitely has a great chance to become one. best player in the world and beat Kylian Mbappe to win the Golden Ball,” the Brazilian legend added.

Viicius has emerged as Los Blancos’ No. 1 star recently, and has impressed over the past few seasons. Despite being injured early in the season, Vinicius still played a vital role to help the Spanish giants win La Liga and reach the Champions League final once again. He made 36 appearances in all competitions, scored 21 goals and had 11 assists.

Meanwhile, Mbappe looks set to become Vinicius’ teammate at Real Madrid next season, after his contract with PSG expires this summer. After 46 matches, the 2018 World Cup champion has 43 goals and 10 assists.
