14-year-old boy graduates from high school and college on the same day, set to earn PhD in Chemical Engineering

An exceptional 14-year-old boy named Matthew McKenzie has achieved an exceptional feat in the United States after graduating from high school and college on the same day.

Matthew McKenzie completed his high school courses and also graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College in Georgia with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

To the excitement of many, particularly his parent, the young genius received his high school Diploma the same day he received a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Chattahoochee Technical College.

Growing up, Matthew McKenzie was already reading advanced books at the age of 4 before proceeding to enroll in college at the age of 11. His fast track through school is a result of an intense homeschool program, which he began in second grade.

“We would pull material from different textbooks and custom create his curriculum,” his mother, Monique McCord, narrated.

Monique McCord also narrated that at the time Matthew started college, she walks him to class so as to ensure he adapts with the new environment. “I started off walking him to class and then the environment got a little more comfortable, then he started walking himself, so he eased into the transition,” she said.

Speaking on his exceptional feat, Matthew McKenzie explained that he now plans to become a cosmetic chemist and plans to attend Kennesaw State University to study biochemistry and transfer to Georgia Tech for his Master’s Degree and PhD in Chemical Engineering.

“I want to be a Cosmetic Chemist I want to start my own line of chemical products, the beauty of things,” Matthew said about his ambition to become a Chemical Engineer.

His mother, Monique, also added that her son noted that he wishes to develop a cosmetic that will cure wrinkles. “At one point he said I’m going to cure wrinkles, and I said, good because one-day mom is going to have wrinkles and I’m going to need you,” she added.

Another scholar who graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College named Caleb Anderson broke the record of Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia as one of the youngest students ever admitted to the institution.

Caleb Anderson was admitted to the university at the young age of 12 and is set to become an Aerospace Engineer.
