A 24-year-old African American man named Derrick Parker jr has graduated from Harvard law school. He also made history as the first lawyer in his family.
Derrick Parker is a 24year old African American man from Kansas City, Missouri. He shared on his LinkedIn that he passed his bar exam on his first sitting just like he wished before graduating from L Law School.
”I was determined to take (and pass) the bar before graduating from law school. Well…..I PASSED THE FEBRUARY BAR EXAM with a score high enough to practice in any UBE jurisdiction! Glory be to God!#OneAndDone #EsquireMe #JDloading,”he said.
Now Derrick has graduated from the prestigious Harvard law school. He took to his social media pages to celebrate his achievement saying he has fulfilled his ancestor’s wildest dream.

Derrick was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau while a student at Harvard. He also served on the executive board of the Black Law Students Association in the institution.

He was not just a student, as a young barrister, he represented low-income clients in civil cases before the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Derrick worked as an intern at the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, Dla Piper Global Law Firm, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Foundation, and the US House of Representatives as a student lawyer.
He was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science, and Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Societies, among other honor societies.
Derrick made history in 2018 when he graduated as the best graduating student of Morehouse College with a Bachelor’s degree.
