Kevin Durant Injury Update Before Warriors-Suns Game

Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns) did not participate in practice on Sunday.

On Friday evening, the Phoenix Suns hosted the Sacramento Kings in Arizona.

The Suns were playing without 2014 MVP Kevin Durant (ankle) and lost the game by a score of 114-106 (despite Devin Booker scoring 28 points on 71% shooting from the field).

They will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they host Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors in Arizona.

On Sunday, the Suns held practice, but head coach Frank Vogel revealed that Durant did not participate (h/t Duane Rankin of azcentral).

Rankin asked Vogel about Durant, Grayson Allen and Nassir Little’s status for Tuesday’s game with the Warriors.

Vogel: “They’re all possibilities, but it’s too early to tell.”

Durant has played in 19 games so far this season and is averaging 31.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 52.1% from the field and 50.0% from the three-point range.

The Suns are 12-10 in their first 22 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Durant is in his first full season with the Suns after getting traded (via the Brooklyn Nets) in February.

Last year, the Suns finished as the fourth seed in the Western Conference and lost to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the NBA playoffs.

In 47 regular season games (with the Suns and Nets), Durant averaged 29.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest.
