Kevin Durant’s Fantastic Response Following Suns-Lakers Game

Kevin Durant spoke to reporters after the Phoenix Suns lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Tuesday evening, the Phoenix Suns lost to the Los Angeles Lakers (in California) by a score of 106-103 (the Suns have now been eliminated from the In-Season Tournament).

There was a controversial ending, as the Lakers were awarded a timeout to keep possession of what looked like a loose ball.

After the game, Kevin Durant met with the media and was asked about the ending (h/t Mark Medina).

Durant: “That’s not that game, that’s one play, it’s a 48-minute game. I don’t like complaining about calls. Sometimes, the ref ain’t gonna get it right all the time. Sometimes it’s on us to play through all of that stuff and not worry about putting the game in the ref’s hands.”

Durant finished his night with 31 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block while shooting 12/17 from the field and 4/7 from the three-point range in 39 minutes of playing time.

With the loss, the Suns fell to 12-9 in their first 21 games, which has them as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

They are 7-3 over their last ten games and will play their next game on Friday evening when they host the Sacramento Kings in Arizona.

At home, the Suns have gone 5-5 in ten games, while they are now 7-4 in 11 games on the road.

As for the Lakers, they have advanced to the In-Season Tournament’s final four and will face off against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
