Kevin Durant Made NBA History In Suns-Raptors Game

Kevin Durant moved up on the NBA’s all-time assists list.

On Wednesday evening, the Phoenix Suns are in Canada facing off against the Toronto Raptors.

During the game, Kevin Durant made NBA history by moving up on the all-time assists list.

Durant came into the evening with 4,349 career assists, and he has now moved ahead of Alex English (4,351) for 96th on the list.

Following English, the next player for Durant to pass will be Ray Allen (4,361).

Durant returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday after missing each of the previous two games.

He came into the matchup with averages of 31.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 53.3% from the field and 52.2% from the three-point range.

While Durant is among the best scorers ever, he is also a talented passer and has averaged at least 5.0 assists per contest in seven of the previous 15 seasons.

The Suns are 11-6 in their first 17 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They are in the middle of a seven-game winning streak and most recently defeated the New York Knicks by a score of 116-113.

Following the Raptors, the Suns will return home to host the Denver Nuggets on Friday in Arizona.

In addition to the Suns, Durant has also spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Over 1,001 regular season games, the two-time NBA Champion has career averages of 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest.
