‘I’m loving it’: 21-year-old suggests he’s so happy he signed for Chelsea this summer

Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer says he is loving life at Chelsea at the minute.

Cole Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City during the summer and has told the club’s official website that he has really enjoyed his time at Stamford Bridge so far.

The 21-year-old has made quite the impact since arriving in west London, coming up with three goal contributions in his first six Premier League games under Mauricio Pochettino.

His most recent was a penalty against Arsenal, but some still have doubts about the player after Pep Guardiola allowed him to leave the Etihad.

Cole Palmer loving life at Chelsea

Speaking about his time at Chelsea so far, Palmer told the club’s website: “I’m loving it here at Chelsea. Every day is good, even off the pitch with the lads. There’s a good vibe here and everything’s good, so I’m loving it.

“I came to Chelsea to try to make an impact. I’m happy I’ve done it straight away. Credit to the lads, the lads are all good, helped me settle in and stuff, but I’ve just got to try to improve every day and give more and more.”

Cole Palmer happy at Chelsea

Palmer’s current mood is not a surprise. He is playing right now and that is probably all he ever wanted.

The attacking midfielder was not a starter at City and was always going to find it difficult to break into their team given all of the quality they possess.

The European champions signed Jeremy Doku from Rennes in the summer, another player to get in Palmer’s way.

Is the England U21 international going to win as much at Chelsea as he would have at City? Probably not. In fact, with this being a team who finished 12th last season, Palmer may not be claiming any silverware anytime soon.

But at least he is getting game time, which is crucial for his development as a player.

After their 2-2 draw with Arsenal, Chelsea have another London derby to look forward to, a clash against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Palmer impressed in the Arsenal game and in his last few appearances overall, so you would expect Pochettino to hand him another start when the Blues take on Thomas Frank’s side this Saturday.
