The highly anticipated film chronicles the story of Solène (Hathaway), a 40-year-old divorcee, who attends a music festival, Coachella, along with her daughter, and there she meets the most famous pop star in the world, Hayes Campbell (Galitzine). In a candid interview with Vogue, author Robinne Lee shut down the rumors as many readers of the novel The Idea of You believe the story is inspired by the singer.

“This was never supposed to be a book about Harry Style. Nor was it ever intended as a classic, fuzzy romance. It was supposed to be a story about a woman approaching 40 and reclaiming her 𝓈ℯ𝓍uality and rediscovering herself, just at the point that society traditionally writes women off as desirable and viable and whole.”

There were many controversies surrounding their shared project, as one insider informed Page Six that his co-star Pugh was allegedly not thrilled with his relationship with Wilde.
